New Pasadena Restaurants to Watch: Mid-October 2026

By Alejandro Espitia · 6 min read · 2026-10-02

A convivial restaurant bar at dusk in Pasadena with a long wood bar, glowing amber bottles, and a table set with Georgian cheese bread and small plates

This edition of the dining roundup covers the one genuinely new table the verification trail turned up this week, plus the rooms that keep drawing lines as October settles in: the Georgian kitchen on South Lake that arrived with its own drinking culture, the Taiwan-born bagel bakery still selling out in Old Pasadena, and the double opening on Lincoln Avenue where Lodge Bread Company's fourth bakery shares a building with the forthcoming Full Proof Pizza. Every pick below was verified on October 2, 2026 against the restaurant's own page, a published review, or a current business listing, and each entry names its neighborhood and what makes it worth your night out. Your host is Alejandro Espitia, Broker Associate and REALTOR with Apex Realty and Investments, California license 01213999, with 18+ years of experience across Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Gabriel, and Riverside, in English and Spanish.

Deda: a Georgian table and drinking horn on South Lake

Deda, pronounced day-da, is the Georgian word for mother, and the restaurant and bar at 55 S. Lake Avenue, Suite 150 has been turning the Playhouse Village block into a small taste of the Caucasus since it opened over the summer. The kitchen serves the classics done properly: Adjaruli khachapuri, the cheese-filled bread boat; khinkali, the juicy broth dumplings; and mtsvadi, flame-grilled marinated meats. The bar is the part that makes it different: a big U-shaped counter, Georgian cocktails built around chacha and Georgia's ancient wine tradition, and khantsi drinking horns for toasts. The Infatuation called the cocktails a highlight, the Pasadena Star-News called the food a delight, and dinner service runs nightly with weekend brunch. Call (626) 995-3332 or find the current hours and menu at dedarestaurant.com.

Miopane keeps its line going in Old Pasadena

Miopane at 95 N. Raymond Avenue, the Taiwan-born bakery and cafe that made its first United States appearance on this corner, keeps the draw it had at opening: cream-cheese-stuffed bagels in sweet and savory rounds, green-onion croissants, black sesame croissants, Basque burnt cheesecake, and the signature Pillow Lattes. Eater LA reviewed it this spring and called out the line it keeps, and on busy afternoons the pastry case still sells out. Hours run Tuesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., closed Monday, and it is a short walk from Memorial Park and the Metro A Line. Call (626) 239-8348.

Lodge Bread and Full Proof Pizza: the Lincoln Avenue double opening holds

The north-side opening to keep planning around has not changed, and it only got more interesting: Lodge Bread Company's fourth bakery is still headed to 1951 Lincoln Avenue in early November 2026, in a building shared with the forthcoming Full Proof Pizza, so the corner becomes a bakery-and-pizzeria double opening on the Lincoln Avenue line between Pasadena and Altadena. Eater LA keeps it on its most-anticipated fall openings list, and the address is confirmed on Lodge Bread's own locations page. Opening dates can slip, so confirm on the bakery's page before you go.

Still on the list from earlier editions

The rooms from earlier editions keep their momentum. THAIM's Old Bangkok street food at One Colorado still tops the hot lists, Love Baked Wings keeps its near-perfect Yelp run at 38 W. Colorado Boulevard, The Daily Catch keeps serving Sicilian seafood at 927 E. Colorado Boulevard, Cannonball in South Pasadena remains the reservation the food crowd talks about, Woon Kitchen holds its Washington Boulevard dinner service, and Pez Coastal Kitchen keeps the dry-aged-fish counter busy at 61 N. Raymond Avenue. This edition focuses on what regular readers had not seen yet, so those rooms get a one-line recap rather than a re-review.

Names, addresses, and details verified October 2, 2026 against restaurant and venue pages and named reviews. Confirm hours and opening dates before you go.

One honest note for this edition: beyond Deda, no other brand-new opening inside Pasadena proper with a confirmed address and date could be verified on October 2, 2026, so this guide says that plainly rather than inventing one. The names above are all confirmed open or confirmed on the calendar, and the next doors to land are the ones the roundups keep flagging: more rooms in Old Town and along East Colorado, with no published dates yet.

What the new tables say about a neighborhood

A Georgian kitchen with a drinking-horn bar on a Playhouse Village corner, a bakery holding the line at its first United States location in Old Pasadena, and a bakery-and-pizzeria double opening on the Lincoln Avenue line are the fastest pulse of a neighborhood, and the blocks they land on are the ones with the foot traffic and the resale story that comes with it. South Lake, Raymond Avenue, and the 91103 edge of town are all showing that energy right now, which makes them worth walking at dinner hour as well as in broad daylight.
